Earthquake Resources
A collection of earthquake-related data resources and tools.

Earthquake hypocentres
- Quake Search: this allows the user to extract a file of earthquake hypocentre locations from the New Zealand region in KML, CSV or IMS 1.0 format, or to plot them as a JPEG image seismicity map. The search may be qualified by date, geographic location, focal depth, magnitude and/or solution quality.
- Hypocentres and Phases: retrieve year files for hypocentres and their phases using FTP. The files are in IMS 1.0 format, as is the seismic network history file. Only fully-checked data are available.
- Moment Tensor Solutions: retrieve the catalogue of GeoNet moment tensor solutions in CSV format. This includes moment magnitude estimations for all significant New Zealand region earthquakes.
Earthquake maps
- Deep Seismicity: view the recent deep earthquakes from your region.
- Shallow Seismicity: view the recent shallow earthquakes from your region.
Web services
- Earthquake Queries: retrieve earthquake hypocentre information.
- Felt Report Queries: retrieve summarised felt report intensities.
Basic data
- Waveform Data: retrieve seismic and strong-motion waveform data in SAC, MiniSEED or plain text format using CWB.
- Seismic Data: retrieve seismic data in SEED, MiniSEED or GSE2.0 format using AutoDRM.
- Strong-Motion Data: retrieve strong-motion data using FTP.
Data quality
- Latency: view PDFs of latency plots, organised by year, month and network code.
Processing
- Hypocentre Derivation: how earthquakes are located and their magnitudes determined.
