Overnight the activity from Tongariro Volcano remained weak. Seismicity in the local Tongariro area has remained low. The “noisy” signal on the seismograph drums is due to windy weather conditions.
Monitoring continues and updates will be issued should the situation change. No field work is planned for today.
An ashfall prediction plot attached to this bulletin shows the area where ash is likely to fall within the next six hours, should an eruption occur.
